ABOUT SPE ISMU CHAPTER

The Chapter is the Official Forum for Petroleum Engineering students at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad providing them, a platform to expose their skills to the global Petroleum Community.It is the oldest of its kind in India.

MISSION

The Chapter Team aims at fulfilling the mission of SPE: "Collecting, disseminating and exchanging technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professional development of the student members". The Chapter envisages at improving continually to be the best by employing the basic strategy for success:"Leveraging volunteer efforts & working together in unison".

AIM

SPE ISMU students’ chapter is an organization committed to helping students learns more about the industry by offering the opportunity to network with company representatives, encouraging the exchange of ideas with others, and Enhancing their knowledge through the variety of educational events taking place throughout the year.

The Chapter organises various events, namely Industrial Presentations, Petro Quiz, Guest Lectures, Software Workshops, Paper Meets and Conferences & Video Shows to name a few, with an aim to inculcate dynamism and creativity among the future technocrats so that they can represent ISM Petroleum in a versatile fashion and broader perspective.

The student members of the Chapter have represented ISM in a number of National and International Conferences.

Dr. Ajay Mandal, the Faculty Sponsor of the Chapter coordinates the Chapter to accomplish its vision. He is a person with young thoughts, positive attitude and zeal to gear the Chapter towards its goal.
