ADIPEC SCHOLARSHIP
2010 SPE- REGIONAL EDUCATION WEEK Held in Conjunction with ADIPEC (1-4 November 2010)
The Society of Petroleum Engineers is holding a regional Education Week alongside the 2010 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), 1-4 November 2010. The objective for this event is to select top students who are studying in Engineering, Geosciences and Science degree programs from qualified institutions across the Middle East region, including North Africa, India and Pakistan. It is anticipated that 70-80 students will be selected to participate in Education Week at ADIPEC. SPE will cover travel and accommodation expenses for all selected students. During this event, the students will be interacting with a number of major industry employers who will be offering job opportunities to a selection of students. Before the event takes place, the Education Week Committee will finalize the list of selected student based on a number of criteria. Invited students will be asked to research an Energy related topic, with guidance from a Young Professional Mentor from one of the sponsoring companies. The students will then work with a number of his/her peers during the Education Week to develop a final report and compete against other teams at the event. During this week, the students will take part of a number of activities. Details for these activities will be made available online prior to attending Education Week.
Interested students, who are in the top 20% of final year undergraduate (2010-2011 academic year) or first-year Masters (with no professional experience) students from the Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geosciences, or Petroleum related Science, can apply.
